City trip to Málaga

Málaga, the hometown of Pablo Picasso, is a beautiful city to visit during your stay at Casa Malacitano. It is exactly an hour’s drive from our accommodation.

There is a lot to see in Málaga. From the port, where the ferry departs for Melilla on the African continent, you can walk onto the beautiful boulevard in no time. There are about 16 beaches and many places to eat and drink. Visit the market hall, one of the many museums or marvel at the beautiful facades that Malaga is known for. In the main shopping streets you will find all the big brands and in Soho, an area that is becoming increasingly popular, is the new theater of Antonio Banderas.

Craving good food? The world famous El Pimpi’s with many dining rooms and an expansive terrace overlooking the Alcazabra or one of the many tapas restaurants in the many small streets around the center are happy to invite you.

Looking for culture? Málaga has quite a few good museums, such as the Picasso Museum, the Carmen Thyssen Museum and the Museo de Málaga. Málaga has become increasingly popular as a tourist destination in recent years. It can therefore be very busy at times. To avoid disappointment, it may be advisable to book in advance for some places or to buy your tickets online.

By train from Alora

From Casa Malacitano, Málaga is also easily accessible by train. It is only a 36-minute drive from the authentic station in Alora, right through the beautiful green valley of Guadalhorce.
